What's up with the mid-season finale?!?!

What was up with the ending for the mid-season finale for Season 15? I have been seeing a lot of mixed feelings about it from people, would you care to elaborate Mr. FAQ?

Obviously, there's been a ton of questions about the most recent episode "You're Getting Old". First of all, don't freak out. The crew is on their normal summer hiatus -- we will come back in September, as always, to finish up the run. There's no scripts being written until then (as usual), so we don't know what will happen, except that there will be seven new episodes starting in October!

Check out Matt and Trey's latest interview, from a couple days ago, on "The Daily Show." It will answer a bunch of your questions!

Question:

Have Stan's parents gotten divorced before?

Isn't there another episode in which Stan's parents divorced? I'm pretty sure it already happened at least once...

Answer

They did indeed get divorced/separate, all the way back in Season 2's "Clubhouses" (212). Randy goes out on the prowl as a single stud and we even meet Stan's step-dad, Roy. However, Randy and Sharon get back together at the end of the episode via a little makeup-clubhouse-sex. Now go cut me some firewood!

Is the City Wok Guy the real personality or what??

SO is the Lu Kim personality the real personality, or is it Dr. Janus?

Answer

The REAL identity is actually Dr. Janus...Mr. Lu Kim was just his strongest alternate personality. But when push came to shitty wok, everyone in South Park realized that they'd rather have Chinese food than another sane therapist...so they just let "Lu Kim" (Dr. Janus) keep thinking he was Chinese. It's a rittle sneaky if you ask me...

What episode does Garrison invent the IT?

Hey FAQ, In what episode does Mr. Garrison invent the IT? I went over all episodes but i can't find it :p

Answer

That one has a tricky title -- it's called "The Entity" and it's in Season 5. Bonus factoid - the title is actually a nod to a Star Trek episode of the same title. No need to look any further though guy, you can watch that flexi-grip filled episode right here...

What does T.M.I. stand for?

As far as slang goes, it's short for "too much information." In South Park though, it's very scientific short-hand for adjusted penis size.

Question:

What's with that dramatic ending of "City Sushi"?

What was that dramatic reference at the end of "City Sushi"? Reminds me of David Lynch..

Answer

You gotta go a little farther back than David Lynch for that movie reference! It's actually an homage to the ending of Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho." If you don't recognize that, do yourself a favor and rent it. I guarantee after it's over, you'll say, "'Wow that a Shitty Wok owner... Why, he wouldn't even harm a fryyy..."

What are the words to the theme song "Goin' Down to South Park?"

Happy to give you the lyrics, with one caveat -- Kenny's lyrics must remain muffled!! What Kenny sings has actually changed a number of times over the years, but Matt and Trey want to keep it a mystery. But here's the goods, right from the script.

The Marine's tattoo on T.M.I? My husband (a Marine) and I would like to know what the tattoo says on his arm. Love the show, this is one of my favorite episodes!

We can feel the love, and we here at South Park salute you, regardless of TMI! That Marine's arm tattoo says "Never Forget" along with a little eagle hovering over a map of the world.

I feel your pain dude, that's one of our favorites too. We didn't do it this run because there was just too much going on -- our Year of the Fan sweepstakes, Top 15 fan-picked episodes, prepping for our big showcase at ComicCon, Book of Mormon, new episodes... Fear not, the Production Blog will triumphantly return this fall, better than ever!

Does Timmy have a family? What's his last name??

Hey, does Timmy have a family? I cant recall any episodes where he has parents or even a last name. Is this true??? If not, then are his parents handicapped as well?

A lot of questions there, but as of last week's episode "T.M.I.", we actually have answers to all of them. We met Timmy's parents, Richard and Helen, briefly way back in "Timmy 2000" (404) -- and yes, they are both handicapped. And according to a little easter egg hidden on the Boys' Actual Penis Size chart in "T.M.I.", we JUST learned Timmy's last name: Timmy Burch. Matt and Trey have a tendency to change last names though, so we'll see if this one sticks.

What does the "P" stand for in Cartman's middle name?

In Crack Baby Athletic Association, Cartman introduces himself as Eric "P" Cartman. What does the "P" Stand for? Is it like Homer Jay Simpson? Does the P stand for PEE?

Well, Eric's official middle name is "Theodore", as we learned in "Roger Ebert Should Lay off the Fatty Foods" (211) and "Sexual Harassment Panda" (306). I think the "P" he used in "Crack Baby Athletic Association" was just something for his slave trader persona -- much like changing his name to Eric Cartmanez in "Eek A Penis" or Kris Kristopherson in "Scott Tenorman Must Die". That little pudding-piler is quite the chameleon.

What songs does Kenny sing in "Quintuplets"?

What were the songs Kenny sang in "Quintuplets"? Thanks, mr. faq guy :)

Damn, that's a tricky one! Most of those are classical tunes -- not my expertise, but I believe I got them all...While first learning to sing, Kenny man-handles Andrea Bocelli's "Con Te Partiro". With the boy's old music teacher, he's singing basic music scales. He croons "La Donna e Mobile" while trying to get to Europe. And lastly at the Romain Music School, I believe that's a bit of an orange-hoodie'd rendition of Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro".

What exactly does Wayne D say in "T.M.I."?

That's not really a specific question, dude. Wayne D has a bunch of speaking roles in "T.M.I.", but I'll give you an excerpt of his two most gangsta scenes. The first comes from when we're introduced to him, and the second is from his "role playing" exercises. Enjoy, mah.

Question:

Who is that woman screaming in Kyle's nightmare?

This has always bothered me. In the episode where the boys TP the art teachers' house, Kyle has these nightmares and in them, a woman is screaming "WHY! WHY!" in an apparent hospital setting. Where is that clip taken from?

I'm not surprised it's bothering you, it's a nightmare. That clip spliced in by Matt and Trey is actually a live-action news shot of Nancy Kerrigan, after she got knee-capped during the 1994 Olympics. It was almost as bad as Kyle's Alan Alda nightmare.

What episode does Shelley need tampons?

This is bugging me. There was an episode of South Park where Shelley told the boys to get her some tampons. The gang went out somewhere. When Stan got back to his house, when Stan opened the door and blood gushed out of the house. Shelley told Stan, "I told you I need tampons". Which episode was it?

Answer

I'm here to hep, turd. That scene you're looking for comes from heavy-flowing episode "The New Terrance and Phillip Movie Trailer" (604). The boys were out looking for a place to watch the trailer for "Asses of Fire 2", so they went to Stan's house. Unfortunately, Shelley really did need that tampon.
